Present at the rallies were officials of party and power organs, working people's organizations, industrial establishments, farms and universities and working people and students in those provinces.

At the rallies it was recalled that according to the proposal made by Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee extended thanks in the name of the Party Central Committee to the exemplary officials, workers, scientists and technologists in the field of agriculture.

Reporters and speakers said that the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee reviewed with pride the work of the first year for carrying out the decisions made at the Party Congress and set forth a grand goal and tasks for glorifying this year as a great watershed in the development of the revolution and a new programme on socialist rural construction.

They called upon all sectors and units to make steady progress in production and construction by fully displaying the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude this year of significance commemorating the 110th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung and the 80th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

They ardently appealed to all officials, Party members and working people to register substantial successes in socialist construction with redoubled revolutionary zeal and thus devotedly defend the Party Central Committee and fully demonstrate once again the might of Juche Korea in which all the people are single-mindedly united.

A letter of pledge to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the rallies.

At the end of the rallies, there were processions of the participants.

They marched past squares and streets, responding to revolutionary and militant slogans.
