The editorial goes on:

Despite the unprecedented difficulties, the Korean people devoted themselves to the implementation of the tasks for the first year of the 5-year plan with absolute trust in the respected General Secretary and with resolution to devotedly defend the leadership authority of the Party Central Committee.

The great victory of 2021 which opened up a prelude to a great change for the comprehensive development of socialist construction is a precious achievement brought about by the invincible might of single-hearted unity.

To the WPK and the Korean people, the year 2022 is an especially important year of great significance that will commemorate the 110th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung and the 80th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

It is the bounden duty and noble moral obligation of the Korean people, the descendants of the President and the soldiers and disciples of the Chairman, to make this year a year of great revolutionary auspicious events to be recorded in the history of the country.

It is our Party's intention to pave an avenue toward the implementation of the 5-year plan and lay a foundation for it by further raising the morale demonstrated in last year's struggle.

Our state and people still face difficulties, and more challenges and ordeals will disturb their struggle, but such stumbling blocks can neither delay nor stop their dynamic advance towards a greater victory with the single-hearted unity as their invincible might.

The editorial calls upon everyone to glorify this meaningful year as a year of fresh victory for the comprehensive development of Korean-style socialism, remaining true to the idea and leadership of the respected General Secretary.
