That day, he said that the shortcut to strengthening the independence and Juche character of the national economy and improving the people's living standard is in giving precedence to science and technology. He also stressed the need to achieve remarkable scientific research findings by correctly choosing the seed in scientific research and concentrating efforts on it and introduce them into reality in time, and make the trait of prioritizing science and technology prevail over the whole society so that everyone can play the role of the master of science and technology and the performer of the sci-tech development.

True to his on-site teachings, scientists and technicians of the academy have made valuable scientific research successes through a campaign of brains and intelligence.

They introduced a technology of oxygen-pulverized anthracite firing and combustion stability into boilers of thermal power plants and developed a natural graphite electrode adhesive binder for UHP electric arc furnace to contribute to the normalization of power production and the home production of electrode.

Last year alone, they made successes in the researches for establishing a graphen manufacturing process and breeding cold-resistant paddy rice species and developed different kinds of hard alloy cutting tools.
