Meeting of Women's Union Officials and Members in DPRK

Pyongyang, January 14 (KCNA) -- A meeting of officials and members of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea (SWUK) took place at the plaza of the Arch of Triumph in the capital city of Pyongyang on Thursday to vow to carry through the decisions made at the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). Present there were Min Sung Chol, vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, officials concerned, officials of the SWUK and union members in the city. In her report at the meeting, Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the SWUK Central Committee, noted that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, paying deep attention to the work of the women's union and guiding it step by step, made sure that the 7th Congress of the SWUK was convened last year when the 8th Congress of the WPK was held and sent a letter carrying his trust and loving care to its participants. Saying that the great practical programme drawn up at the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee is associated with the firm faith and will of our Party, the reporter called for fully demonstrating the might of the women's union in the struggle to implement the Party's decisions. Victory is in store for us under the wise guidance of the Party Central Committee, the reporter stressed, appealing to the participants to make a positive contribution to glorifying this year as a watershed in the developing revolution by displaying their rare work ability, passion and fighting spirit. Then, oath-taking speeches were made. The speakers said that they would turn out as one in the struggle to implement the decisions of the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th WPK Central Committee, cherishing the trust of the Party which projects the women as a powerful force pushing one of the two wheels of the revolutionary chariot. They vowed to become genuine patriotic women performing marked exploits in the ongoing grand advance, guided by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un. A letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting. Then, women's union members in the city launched intensive agit-prop activities. |
