Publication Anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's Work Marked
Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the National Theatre in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, on Wednesday to mark the 30th publication anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's classic work "On Juche Literature".

Kim Hye Song, chairperson of the Central Committee of the Writers Union of Korea, made a report at the meeting.

The reporter noted that Kim Jong Il, who made an immortal contribution to the Korean revolution and the history of human thought through his rare ideo-theoretical activities in the whole period of his revolutionary life, made public the work "On Juche Literature" on Jan. 20, Juche 81 (1992) to provide a new historic landmark for the Juche-oriented literature construction.

The work is a great programme of Juche-oriented literature giving clear answers to all the problems arising in the literature creation and construction with the immortal Juche idea as an ideo-theoretical and methodological basis, the reporter said, adding:

Over the past three decades, our writers have made achievements in creating literary works that inspiringly arouse all the people to the worthy grand march and make a true contribution to the development of the Juche-based literature and arts, along the bright course indicated by the immortal programme.

Under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, our literature greets a heyday of its development in the new century of Juche.

The reporter called on all the creation guidance officials and writers to thoroughly apply the idea of Kim Jong Un on aesthetics and his style of writing in their creation activities and thus fulfill their mission and duty as the soldiers faithful to the Party in the field of literature and arts in the ongoing struggle for the overall development of socialist construction.

Attending the meeting were creation guidance officials, writers and examinants of the April 15 Literary Production Company and the Central Committee of the Writers Union of Korea and incumbent writers in Pyongyang including teachers, researchers and editors of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, the Academy of Social Sciences and the Art and Literature Publishing House.
