Fruit Punch, Traditional Drink of Korea
Pyongyang, February 4 (KCNA) -- Fruit punch is a traditional drink of the Korean nation. Its main ingredients are dried persimmon, ginger, cinnamon, pine nut, sugar and honey.

According to historical data, the fruit punch was originally made from mainly peach, strawberry and pear, but gradually, they were replaced by dried persimmon.

This flavor-rich refreshing drink is a specialty for the Korean people on the lunar New Year's Day even today.

In the period of feudal Joson dynasty (1392-1910), it was regarded as a special winter drink.

Various vitamins, minerals and amino acids produced during the combination of the ingredients are particularly efficacious for purifying blood and relieving fatigue.

On the lunar New Year's Day this year, the fruit punch was served at many public catering units, together with different kinds of national foods.

Chilsong Restaurant in Pyongyang is famous for the fruit punch.
