Attending the meetings were Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK), youth league, trade union and UAWK officials, youth and students, workers and trade union members and agricultural workers and union members.

Recalling that the People's Army, though it was only two years old, defended the sovereignty and dignity of the nation by defeating the imperialist aggressor forces, which had boasted of being "the strongest" in the world, a war veteran Kim Yong Hwang said at the meeting with youth and students that it was the fruit of President Kim Il Sung's outstanding military idea, Juche-based war methods and superb strategy and tactics.

He called upon the youth and students to become performers of feats and young heroes by dedicating themselves to national defence and socialist construction.

There was a meeting between war veteran Kim Juk Song and workers and trade union members.

Reminding the audience of the fact that President Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People's Army, the regular revolutionary armed forces, the war veteran said that it provided a powerful military guarantee for reliably defending the destiny of the country and nation and made it possible to win a historic victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

He appealed to the workers and trade union members to fulfill their role as the eldest sons of the country and the vanguard in carrying out the five-year plan.

At the meeting with agricultural workers, Hero of the Republic Pak In Ho, a lecturer of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, recalled that the KPA has defended the country and the revolution with its invincible arms in every decade of the revolution.

He called upon all the agricultural workers and union members to defend socialism and the Korean revolution with increased grain production, being responsible for the rural revolution.

Oath-taking speeches were made at the meetings.

Speakers vowed to fulfill their mission and duty as the advancing group and wing of the Party in every worksite of socialist construction, following the fighting spirit of the defenders of the country in the 1950s.
