The editorials say that the founding of the KPA on Feb. 8, Juche 37 (1948) was a historic event of great significance in building the Juche-based revolutionary armed forces and carving out the destiny of the country and the nation.

The birth of the regular armed forces opened up a new great era for the DPRK and the Korean people to reliably defend the prestige and sovereignty with their own efforts and step up the building of a prosperous country, the editorials point out.

Saying that the history of the KPA is run through with its ceaseless development under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, Rodong Sinmun goes on:

President Kim Il Sung set forth an army-building policy right after the national liberation and put primary efforts into carrying it out. Then he founded the KPA, the regular revolutionary armed forces for defending the country and the nation. It is his great exploits that he accomplished by dint of self-reliance the great cause of building the regular army from scratch and developed it into the revolutionary army and a modernized cadre army of a-match-for-a-hundred combatants in which the Party's ideological system is thoroughly established.

The Juche-oriented army-building cause was further developed at a higher level, thanks to the extraordinary army-building idea and leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Il. He built up the driving force of the revolution by bolstering the politico-ideological might of the KPA in every way under the uplifted banner of Songun during the severest days of the Korean revolution. He thus successfully steered the socialist cause, performing the undying exploits.

Today the KPA has greeted its heyday, guided by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Minju Joson says that under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un, the KPA has developed into a powerful army that remains infinitely loyal to the Party and the revolution, the country and the people, strong in idea, faith and sense of moral obligation.
