The evening gala began with the song "A Dear Name".

The venue was overflowing with deep reverence for Kim Jong Il who led the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered on Mt Paektu to only victory and performed immortal exploits for the country and revolution, the times and history.

The atmosphere of the venue got warmer with continuous formation changes of the dancers, with the letters "Celebration 80" and "Feb. 16" implied.

The atmosphere of the evening gala was further raised with colorful fireworks beautifully decorating the nocturnal sky on the Day of the Shining Star.

The fascinating firecrackers seemed to reflect the enthusiasm of the young vanguard to fully demonstrate their wisdom and valor in the on-going grand march forward for implementing the decisions made at the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The evening gala reached its climax when the songs "We Will Hold Our General in High Esteem" and "We Will Defend General Kim Jong Un with Our Lives" reverberated throughout the square where the flags of the Party, the Republic and the youth league were fluttering.
