The participants laid a floral basket in the name of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China before the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il before making a bow.

They looked round the photos showing the exploits of the Chairman.

At the conversation Ji Bingxuan, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, asked DPRK Ambassador Ri Ryong Nam to convey the warm greetings and best wishes from Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, to Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Recalling the days of meeting with Kim Jong Il, Ji Bingxuan highly praised him as a prominent leader of the Korean people and a close friend of the Chinese people.

Saying that the China-DPRK friendship, provided by the leaders of the elder generation and developed by the top leaders of the two countries, is the precious one forged in blood, Ji Bingxuan stressed that the two peoples share the same mind no matter how the international situation changes.

Noting that a new chapter in developing the China-DPRK friendly relations was unfolded through several meetings between Kim Jong Un and Xi Jinping, he said the Chinese party, government and people sincerely hoped that the DPRK would be further prosperous under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude for the DPRK's recent supports to China in the international arena, he affirmed that China, attaching foremost importance to the China-DPRK friendship, would as ever support the DPRK and strive together with the comrades of the DPRK to further develop the traditional relations between the two countries.

Attending the event were officials of the Chinese party and government and personages of different circles including those from the Communist Youth League, the Xinhua News Agency, the Chinese People's Daily, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the All-China Women's Federation.
