Attending it were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Pak Ku Ho, its first vice-chairman and concurrently director of its Organization Department, Nam Sung U, its vice-chairman, Pae Jin Gu, its vice-chairman and director general of its General Affairs Department, Jo Il Yon, its vice-chairman, Song Kun Hak, its vice-chairman and director of its Education Department, Kang Chu Ryon, its vice-chairwoman and chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan, Ri Myong Yu, chairman of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon, advisers and department directors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, the chief of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan, chairpersons of the Chongryon headquarters, leading officials of the central leadership bodies and affiliates and other Koreans in Japan.

The reporter paid high tribute to Chairman Kim Jong Il, the benevolent father of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, on the occasion of the greatest national holiday.

He said that all the officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan greeting the Day of the Shining Star (birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il) this significant year keep in their minds once again that thanks to the exploits and dedication of the Chairman who devoted himself to the country and the people all his life, the destiny of the country and the people was firmly defended and firm foundations for building a prosperous and powerful country were provided.

The outstanding wisdom and leadership exploits of the Chairman who took warm care of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan will be immortal along with the movement of Koreans in Japan, he said, and went on:

The fundamental guarantee for thoroughly implementing the instructions of the Chairman without any deflection lies in firmly believing in the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un only and remaining loyal to his idea and leadership.

The reporter ardently called for adding eternal glory to the revolutionary career of the Chairman and his immortal leadership exploits for the movement of Koreans in Japan and waging a more vigorous patriotic movement by getting firmly united in one mind under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

A congratulatory letter of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee to Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting.
