Among the exhibits are 30-odd works depicting Samjiyon City in Ryanggang Province which has been turned into a model of civilized mountain cities and a standard for rural development under the energetic guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Oil paintings "Evening of Samjiyon City" and "A Bright Night View of Samjiyon City" show in beautiful colors a bird's-eye view of Samjiyon City, a glorious land where the Paektusan secret camp housing Kim Jong Il's native home is situated. And a gold painting "Samjiyon City Where People's Ideal Is Realized" raises the quality and cubic effect of depiction with gold color.

An oil painting "Evening Sun above Phothae-dong" finely portrays the lyrical evening scene of Phothae village turned into a fairyland with good composition and color effect as well as fine effects of light and shade.

Korean paintings "Paektusanmilyong-dong in Autumn" and "Morning of Rimyongsu-dong" are winning experts' estimation for optimizing the traditional techniques of the Korean painting.

An inlaid celadon vase "Beautiful Scenery of Junghung-ri" catches visitors' eyes for vividly representing the modern rural dwellings and public buildings like the cultural house by well chiming white and black patterns with the faint ground emerald green.

Meanwhile, craftworks inlaid with mother-of-pearly, woodcuts and embroideries show well the new appearance of Samjiyon City in an artistic way.

Most of the works portraying Samjiyon City were created last year by artists of the Mansudae Art Studio, a comprehensive fine arts producer of the country.
