A large number of young people volunteered to work at farms in Uiju, Sakju, Sonchon and other counties of the province with a determination to become masters responsible for the granary of the country and dedicate themselves to the grain production in the fields of socialist cooperative farms.

Scores of graduates-to-be of university of education and teacher training college expressed their will to glorify their youth at branch schools on islands and schools in mountainous areas.

Young people in Ryongchon, Taegwan, Pyokdong and Tongchang counties volunteered to work at mines and forestry stations out of the will to live like the youth vanguard and the elder generations in the Chollima age.

Mun Kyong Dok, chief secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the youth league and youth and students gave pep talks to the volunteers.
