Day of Shining Star Marked Abroad
Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- Celebrations were held in Laos, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Syria, Thailand, India, Romania, Belarus, Guinea, Libya, Senegal and Algeria to commemorate the birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il (the Day of the Shining Star).

The vice-chairperson of the Commission for Propaganda and Training Affairs of the C.C., Lao People's Revolutionary Party said that the DPRK could make development in all aspects of the social life and exalt its international prestige as President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il had led the struggle for defending the country's sovereignty and building socialism.

The chairperson of the C.C., Workers’ Party of Bangladesh and the chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh National Socialist Party praised Kim Jong Il's party-building exploits.

The chairperson of the Libya-DPRK Friendship Association and the secretary general of the Sunbula International Friendship Club of Libya said that the great HE Kim Jong Il developed the DPRK into a single-heartedly united, politico-ideological and military power.

The chairman of the Supreme Council of the National Socialist Party of Romania said that Kim Jong Il's exploits will shine long with the human history.

The chairman of the Guinean Society for the Study of the Juche Literary Idea and the chairman of the Guinea-DPRK Friendship and Solidarity Association said that HE Kim Jong Il, who clearly showed the road ahead of mankind, is immortal.

The chairperson of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand, the chairperson of the Thailand-DPRK Friendship Association and a spokesman for the Workers' Party for the Independence and other personages of Senegal stressed that the Korean people would always emerge victorious as they are led by HE Kim Jong Un carrying forward the cause of HE Kim Jong Il.

Congratulatory messages to the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un were adopted at the celebrations in Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and Senegal.
