Efforts for Satisfying Demand for Electricity Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- The electric power industrial sector is pushing ahead with the work to satisfy the immediate demand for electricity and to guarantee the prospective production by increasing the generating capacity.

Officials of the Ministry of Electric Power Industry have actively adjusted the electricity production in the direction of simultaneous development of water-power generation and thermal-power generation and urged the power stations to thoroughly ensure the stability of electricity production by further strengthening the management of equipment and technical control.

The ministry has directed its efforts to sharing new technologies and good experience of the leading units and launching the campaigns in which one overtakes and learns from others and swaps experience with them.

Workers of the power stations across the country have fully met the immediate demand for electricity at various sectors of national economy by carrying out the production quotas by the day and for every ten days.

Power transmission and distribution stations have conducted normal tour, normal examination and normal repair in a responsible way.

The work of readjusting and reinforcing the production foundation guaranteeing the prospective development of the electric power industry has been promoted according to the detailed plans along with the current production.

The hydro-power sector has effectively conducted overhauling and updating of generating equipment, while positively propelling the work to provide the foundation of electricity production with the main stress put on the water generation.

The thermal power sector has concentrated efforts on intensifying the production foundation while speeding up the work for improving the performance of generating equipment by dint of science and technology.

Officials and working people in the field of electric power industry are putting spurs to the struggle to increase the electricity production on a higher level.
