Various units including the Central Committee of the youth league and the High-Speed Youth Shock Brigade Management Bureau planted with much care more than 1 000 trees and flower shrubs of 10-odd species in the area of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace.

Officials of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and the Central Committee of the women's union conducted a tree-planting campaign at the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site and the Central Botanical Garden.

Officials and working people in various districts and counties of Pyongyang planted trees of good species in their streets, villages and workplaces.

Officials of Party and power organs and working people's organizations in South Phyongan Province planted trees in the vicinity of the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in Phyongsong City and in other areas.

Hundreds of thousands of trees were planted in South Hamgyong Province, including the Ryonpho area to be turned into a socialist civilized farm.

Trees and flower shrubs, planted by officials and working people across the country on Wednesday, amounted to millions.
