2022 Horse-riding Games for March 8 International Women's Day Held
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- There were 2022 horse-riding games for marking the March 8 International Women's Day in Pyongyang on Tuesday.

Among the spectators were Choe Ryong Hae, Jo Yong Won, Ri Il Hwan, Ju Chang Il, Ri Tu Song and other senior Party and government officials and their wives.

Pak Myong Sun, Kim Yo Jong and other women officials of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the C.C., Socialist Women's Union of Korea and women labor innovators and merited workers watched the games together with working people, youth and students in the city.

Before the opening of the games, children entered on a chariot and gave bouquets of congratulations to exemplary women officials.

Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, made an opening address.

Buglers and drummers in Koguryo warrior clothes announced the opening of the games.

There were a demonstration horse-riding by horse riders of the Mirim Riding Club and a demonstration of equestrian feats by artistes of the National Acrobatic Troupe.

The horse-riders formed numbers "3.8". And various equestrian feats were shown by women acrobats.

Demonstration equestrian performance caught particular interest of the spectators.

Such opening rite was followed by horse-riding games.

Horse-riding games by couples selected in Pyongyang City and provinces drew attention of the spectators. And there were 1600 m rider race, 1600 m men's amateur race and 1600 m women's amateur race in the outdoor horse-riding tracks.

There were also other colorful games which added to the delight of the spectators.

Players who came on the top standings were awarded cups, medals, certificates and prizes.

The games were followed by a congratulatory art performance.
