March 8 International Women's Day Marked in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- The 112th anniversary of March 8 International Women's Day was splendidly marked across the DPRK.

At the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, the visitors looked back on the benevolence of the great leaders who built a grand flower garden, where women are prioritized and respected, regarding it as their motto to believe in the people as in heaven all their lives.

People placed floral baskets, bouquets and flowers at the statues of the President and the Chairman and mosaics picturing their smiling images on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country before making a bow toward the statues.

Officials of every province, city and county and those of different institutions, industrial establishments and farms congratulated exemplary women workers.

Colorful art performances and amusement games took place across the country.

There was a concert by the National Symphony Orchestra at Moranbong Theatre, the drama "Devoted Service" at the National Theatre and a circus by the National Acrobatic Troupe at Pyongyang Circus Theater.

The Ensemble of the Ministry of National Defence gave an outdoor performance at the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort.

Art performances were given in North Phyongan Province and other provinces and cities to celebrate the holiday.

Women's union members revved up the festive mood by playing diverse amusement games full of national flavor.

Public catering facilities were busy serving women.

Women were greatly pleased to receive gifts and flowers from their husbands and children.
