Last Year's Socialist Emulation in Agricultural Sector Reviewed

Pyongyang, March 11 (KCNA) -- A meeting for reviewing a socialist emulation drive for boosting grain production and improving livestock farming in 2021 was held through video-conferencing on March 10. It was attended by Ju Chol Gyu, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and those from the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and the units involved in the drive. Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, made a report. Then the standings of the drive were announced. Citations in the joint name of the Central Committee of the WPK, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the DPRK Cabinet and rotating silk banners were conferred on Pyongyang City and the Toksong Cooperative Farm in Anak County of South Hwanghae Province respectively. They took the first place respectively in a competition for increased production among provinces and in a competition among farms with production plans of over 10 000 tons of grain. Citations in the joint name of the Central Committee of the WPK and the DPRK Cabinet and rotating silk banners went to the Oguk Cooperative Farm in Anak County of South Hwanghae Province for winning the competition among model co-op farms, and to North Phyongan Province, the Hungju Chicken Farm and the Kanggye Pig Farm for ranking first in competitions for improving poultry and pig farming. In addition, the Cholsan County Irrigation Management Station and the Anak County Farm Machine Station were awarded citations of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and rotating silk banners. They distinguished themselves in the competitions among irrigation management stations and among farm machine stations. The outline for a socialist emulation for 2022 was read out. |
