The Provincial People's Committee worked out a realistic stepwise plan in conformity with regional features. And it has taken foresighted measures for producing saplings, while cementing material and technical foundations of the tree nurseries.

It secured at least one hundred million saplings needed for spring tree-planting by positively introducing an advanced sapling production method. It has urged everyone to enhance responsibility in the spring tree-planting after securing enough saplings of good species suitable for the regional climatic and soil conditions.

Officials and working people in the province planted saplings in the vicinity of the Wonsan Greenhouse Farm under construction and other areas, thus contributing to turning them into woodlands.

Thousands of trees of high economic value and greening effect have been planted in parks around the housing estates and the areas surrounding factories respectively.

The province also planted trees such as fir and flowers around a new power station under construction, adding beauty to the landscape of the area.
