The symposium and experience-sharing meeting was aimed to generalize the sci-tech successes and experience gained in cultivating high-yielding dry-field rice in the past, true to the Party's policy on increasing the grain production in a stable and sustained way while overcoming the effect of unfavorable weather conditions.

Attending it through video-conferencing were scientists, technicians, teachers, researchers and field officials from more than 30 units, including the Academy of Agricultural Science and Kanggye University of Agriculture and Forestry.

What drew the attention of its participants and jury were treatises and cultivation technologies, completed through repeated study and pursuit and earnest efforts out of the burning desire to vigorously lead the struggle for implementing the Party's policy on agricultural revolution by dint of science and technology.

Highly appraised were treatises and experience that help increase the per-hectare yield by breeding new seeds suited to the topographical characteristics, enhancing the drought resistance of dry-field rice and minimizing the damage from cold and humidity.
