Conservation of Underground Water Resources in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Today is World Water Day.

The UN-Water reportedly set its work subject for this year as "Underground water making invisible visible" to proactively conserve the global underground water resources greatly influencing the human life and activities.

The DPRK is rich in underground water resources as it has many rivers and streams with much water permeating through the ground.

Its strict state regulations on tapping and conservation of underground water resources restrict the water-polluting prospecting and activities to make sure that underground water is completely used for promoting public welfare.

Efforts are directed to prospecting hot spring and mineral water to build spas, holiday homes and sanatoriums in every region. Factories have been built near springs to supply mineral water to citizens.

Typical ones are the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort in Yangdok County of South Phyongan Province, the Ryonggang Hot Spring in Nampho City and the Hwangjin Hot Spring in North Hamgyong Province.

The Kangso Mineral Water Factory and other mineral water factories across the country contribute to the promotion of people's health.

All the citizens in the DPRK are inspired to conserve underground water.
