Sowing of Rice Seeds Begins in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- Sowing rice seeds in beds has begun at farms of the DPRK.

Since the beginning of this year, officials and working people of the agricultural sector sped up the farming preparations and subsequently started the immediate seed sowing.

Farms in South Hwanghae Province are focusing efforts on seed sowing after carrying out the prospective pre-arrangements.

Bearing in mind that a guarantee for high yield starts from the rice seedbeds, agricultural workers are completing their daily schedules without fail by ensuring the correct amount of seeds sowed per phyong (one phyong equals to 3.954 square yards) according to their strains.

Those in North Phyongan Province strictly observe the technical rules in farm work such as seed processing, making rice seedbeds and sprouting.

Those in Pyongyang show good results by making effective use of seed-sowing tools.

Farmers in other areas including North Hwanghae and South Hamgyong provinces are also seeing good results in seed sowing by giving priority to preceding processes such as readjusting rice seedbeds and seed sprouting.
