Mass Forest Conservation Takes Place in DPRK
Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- Forest conservation is taking place in North Hwanghae Province of the DPRK as a mass movement.

Focusing its effort on spring tree-planting, the province carries out pest prevention and firebreak maintenance in its forests.

Making a detailed survey and finding areas vulnerable to damage by pests, officials of the forestry sector create a more well-ordered system of monitoring and warning of forest fire and mobilizing the public to prevent it while taking precautionary measures.

Officials and working people placed preventive tape for pine caterpillars while strengthening the monitoring and notification work.

Efforts and means are also focused on stepping up the anti-landslide projects in a qualitative way.

Additionally established forest fire watchposts and mobile communication stations are well-equipped for swift action in case of emergencies.

Strict demands are set so that residents abide by mountain-climbing rules.

Officials and working people of the province are carrying out forest conservation with pure conscience and passion.
