After setting a target for raising the rate of mechanization in farm work, the provincial rural economy committee has organized the scrupulous operation and guidance over the work to finish the overhauling of farm machines including tractors and rice-transplanting machines by the appointed time.

Its officials significantly organized such events as moving of tractors and medium and small farm implement exhibition, while taking rapid steps to solve the problems arising in farming preparations. Ryongchon, Phihyon and Unjon counties introduced valuable technical innovations and produced accessories to bring good results in overhauling farm machines.

Kwaksan and Thaechon counties pushed ahead with the work to remodel rice-transplanting machines and raise the level of drivers' technical knowledge and skills.

Officials and workers in Jongju City and Sonchon and Tongrim counties are stepping up the manufacture and overhaul of farm machines.
