The university paid deep attention to making teachers and researchers prepare for teaching so that they might base subjects on the Party policy and put educational contents on a practical, comprehensive and modern basis. And the university methodologically organized the work to make them improve their qualifications.

A zeal for improving the teaching contents and methods was shown. As a result over 70 new subjects and more than 300 superior teaching methods were created and thus a guarantee of improving the quality of education was provided.

The Power Engineering Department created a subject needed for improving the studying, and practical ability of students, teaching contents and methods for it and also a multimedia teaching program for improving students' foreign languages.

The Mining Engineering and Physics Engineering Departments increased the rate of experiments and practical and technical training, and thus helped students consolidate their wide-ranging knowledge about their majors in practice.

The IT Department created a new system of the subject of their major to conform to the developing reality.

The Automatic Engineering Department has witnessed the perfecting of the program system helping use all the experimental equipment, and the creation of teaching methods of improving the conceiving and designing abilities of the students.

The Metal Engineering, Electronics, Ships and Maritime Engineering, and Applied Mathematics departments, etc. created new teaching contents and methods.
