Attending the short course were officials of the Cabinet and the Agricultural Commission, chairpersons of provincial rural economy committees and other officials in the agricultural field.

Introduced into the short course are the experiences of Pyongyang City gained in restoring and rehabilitating areas under the dry-field irrigation.

The participants learned how they should build reservoirs and waterways and what principles they should rely on to irrigate various forms of dry-fields like sprinkler and furrow types.

Irrigation facilities displayed in the short course caught participants' interest as they were created to suit the prevailing demands for implementing dry-field irrigation system and the actual conditions of their units.

The short course stressed the need for all regions to learn experiences from Pyongyang City in building the dry-field irrigation to lay material and technical foundations for achieving stable and sustainable development in the agricultural production and securing water pumps and other dry-field irrigation facilities.
