Grand People's Study House Contributing to Development of Science and Technology
Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- The Grand People's Study House in the DPRK has greeted its 40th founding anniversary.

It, equipped with sci-tech information means and modern management and operation facilities, houses a large number of books. It is an important documentary base for the country's social education and sci-tech dissemination.

President Kim Il Sung chose Namsan Hill as the site for the house and personally named it and Chairman Kim Jong Il guided the work to constantly improve its management and operation as required by the developing times and reality.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent to the house more than 24, 000 volumes of books in 4, 893 kinds and over 1, 700 pieces of e-data and equipment on 113 installments.

Over the last ten years, at least 7.55 million officials, working people, youth and students have received various kinds of reading service. The house has also organized lectures and short courses conducive to settling the sci-tech problems arising in various economic sectors and given service on sci-tech data to more than 1, 350 units.

Meanwhile, it has accumulated at least 156, 900 pieces of sci-tech data helpful to the country's economic development and the improvement of people's livelihood.

Last year alone, it collected a lot of books, data and e-data including 105, 000 volumes of books in 35, 000 kinds.

The Grand People's Study House was awarded the Order of Kim Il Sung and the Order of National Flag First Class, and it has produced many owners of official commendations of high classes and titles of honor.
