Chairman Kim Jong Il took the initiative in building the largest noodle house in Thongil Street and personally named it "Pyongyang Noodle House" on April 3, Juche 81 (1992) ahead of its opening.

Employees and officials of the Pyongyang Noodle House have recorded a 30 year-long history with their service activities and successes conducive to the improvement of the citizens' dietary life and the development of the country's culinary culture.

A meeting was held on April 3 to convey a congratulatory letter from the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea to the employees and officials of the Pyongyang Noodle House on its 30th anniversary.

Attending it were O Su Yong, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, and officials and employees of the house.

The WPK Central Committee in the letter highly appreciated the employees and officials for having devoted themselves to the happiness of the people and the development of the culinary culture of our nation with boundless loyalty to the leader and the spirit of devoted service for the people.
