The festival brought together more than 100 units selected from the ministries and national institutions and public catering establishments and women's union organizations in the city of Pyongyang. It was divided into exhibitions of famous dishes, specified dishes and sci-tech achievements in cooking, a cookery contest and a demonstration of famous cooks.

Presented to it were over 780 foods and drinks and more than 240 sci-tech achievements made by cooks in the city, true to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un's noble outlook on the people.

Attending the closing ceremony on Friday were Ri Song Hak, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Minister of Commerce Pak Hyok Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Association of Cooks, Ri Yong Min, director of the Guidance Bureau of Public Catering Service, officials concerned, cooks, waitresses and women's union members.

Results of jury examination were announced and the distinguished units and participants received diplomas, medals and certificates at the ceremony.

Similar events took place at famous restaurants in each province.
