The festival, attended by many artistes and working people of 20-odd units selected from different regions and units across the country, will be held at theatres and cultural houses in Pyongyang, divided into the categories of provincial art troupes, art squads, itinerant art groups and other art groups as well as a magic festival.

Minister of Culture Sung Jong Gyu, chairman of the festival organizing committee, made an opening address at the ceremony.

The speaker stressed that the festival to be held with splendor on the occasion of the 110th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung is a grand political art festival peculiar to Juche Korea vividly representing with beautiful artistic scenes the firm faith and will of all the people to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered in Mt Paektu to the end under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Then followed an opening performance.

Attending the opening ceremony were Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Song Hak, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials concerned and participants in the festival.
