The Arch of Triumph was erected as a monumental edifice symbolic of the era of the Workers' Party in April Juche 71 (1982) in reflection of the pure loyalty of the Korean people to add eternal brilliance to the President's revolutionary exploits.

For the past 40 years after its erection, it has been visited by at least 1, 783, 000 persons, including working people, servicepersons and schoolchildren.

When visiting it, a large number of foreigners and overseas compatriots highly praised the revolutionary exploits of the President who saved the destiny of the distress-torn nation and built Juche-oriented socialism on this land.
