At the ceremony for its inauguration on April 10, Juche 61 (1972), President Kim Il Sung named the factory "Myohyangsan Medical Appliances Factory" and specified the orientations and ways for medical apparatus production.

Chairman Kim Jong Il wisely guided the factory to fulfill its duty and mission in promoting the people's health.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who inspected the factory several times, saw to it that the factory was rebuilt excellently to add eternal luster to the undying leadership exploits of the President and the Chairman.

The factory has turned into an icon and standard one which plays a leading role in developing the medical appliances manufacturing industry of the country, thanks to Kim Jong Un who dedicates himself to making sure that our people and younger generations enjoy good health and highly-civilized life under the socialist public healthcare system.

A commemorative meeting took place on April 10.

Attending it were Thae Hyong Chol, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Hyong Hun, vice-minister of Public Health, Kim Jang Won, secretary of the Jagang Provincial Party Committee, and officials and employees of the factory.
