The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un convened a historic plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee in March Juche 102 (2013), at which he put forward a strategic line of simultaneously carrying on the building up of economy and nuclear armed forces in line with the prevailing situation and lawful demands of the Korean revolution.

The enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee in December 2013 served as a turning point for more thoroughly establishing the monolithic leadership system of the Party Central Committee in the whole Party and society and consolidating the Party into an ideological pure entity and an integral organization.

With the enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee in February 2015 as an occasion, the struggle for thoroughly applying the people-first principle to overall Party work and eradicating practices of abusing power, bureaucratism and corruption gained great momentum.

The 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was registered in the country's history as a glorious one as it provided strategic lines and prospective goals for the victorious advance of the revolution and construction. After the congress there have been held plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee every year to clarify tasks and ways for ensuring the implementation of the decisions of the congress and opening up a broad avenue for building a powerful socialist country.

The 8th Party Congress marked as the one for struggle and progress which dynamically accelerated the historic advance for ushering in a new period of upsurge and great turn in the revolution. The congress greatly inspired the socialist construction to enter into a new stage of development. The important Party meetings including the plenary meetings and meetings of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee after the congress raised the people's revolutionary ardor and enthusiasm for the struggle for achieving the overall development of our style of socialism and significantly increased the motive force for the advance of our state.

The First Conference of Chairpersons of the Party Primary Committees and the Second Conference of Secretaries of the Party Primary Committees were recorded as meaningful meetings as they advanced an idea that the Party primary organizations should enhance their militant function and role and all the secretaries of the Party primary committees should be honest political officials of the Party devotedly serving the people.

The First Short Course for Chief Secretaries of City and County Party Committees provided a turning point for strengthening the foundations for developing cities and counties, the regional centers of socialist construction, and dynamically accelerating the building up of the Party and the overall development of the country.

The First Workshop of Officials in the Information Field of the WPK served as an important occasion in bolstering the fighting efficiency of the Party and increasing the motive force peculiar to our style of socialism by enhancing the militant function and role of the information sector.
