The square, arranged with a performance scaffold, was filled with delight of citizens significantly celebrating the Day of the Sun as a grand festival of victory and glory.

Put on the stage of performance by creators, artistes and schoolchildren from national art troupes and art education institutions were monumental hymns and songs in praise of the Workers' Party and marching songs representing the times, those songs that the Korean people have sung by heart through centuries and generations, enjoying great happiness under the care of the great sun.

At the performance, the national anthem was played and then a prelude "Song of Mangyongdae" and other hymns and memorable songs created during the anti-Japanese war reverberated, arousing the people's deep yearning for President Kim Il Sung, founder of socialist Korea and the great saint of the revolution.

The performers sang loudly of the sacred life of the President, a hero for all ages and peerless patriot who embarked on the road of revolution in his early years and had pushed his way through endless snowstorms and waged long bloody battles for 20 years to save the destiny of the country.

The audience was touched to hear the songs recalling the patriotic life of the peerlessly great man who dedicated his all to the prosperity of the country, traveling a ceaseless journey of field guidance by people-bound train until the last moments of his life.

The numbers of the performance included famous songs representing the high pride and happiness of the Korean people led by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Il, who is turning socialist Korea into a great flower garden of the people-first principle.

Amid the playing of songs in praise of the sun, fireworks were displayed to brighten the nocturnal sky of April.

The performance significantly adorned the Day of the Sun, the greatest national auspicious holiday.
