Present there were Ri Tong Je, chairman of the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification, and its vice-chairpersons and members.

Videos titled "With the people" and "Feats of the leader who devoted himself to the cause of independent reunification of the country all his life" were screened at the meeting.

Then speeches were made.

The speakers noted that President Kim Il Sung dedicated all his life to providing our fellow countrymen with a reunified country, taking to heart the national division more than anyone else.

The President laid down the three principles of national reunification, the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo, the ten-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and other great programmes for national reunification, frustrating the obstructive moves of the separatist forces and ushering in a heyday of the nation-wide reunification movement, they said.

They stressed that it is the highest honor and pride of the Korean nation and fortune of its posterity to have the President as the eternal father of the nation.

They praised Chairman Kim Jong Il for opening up the June 15 era of independent reunification in the idea of By Our Nation Itself, true to the President's instructions for reunification.

They said that the cause of independent reunification pioneered and led by the President and the Chairman is being successfully carried forward by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, another peerless patriot.
