President Kim Il Sung founded the KPRA on April 25, Juche 21 (1932).

Rodong Sinmun says that the birth of the first revolutionary armed forces of Juche type made the ardent desire of Koreans for having their genuine revolutionary army be realized and provided the Korean people with a powerful military guarantee for carving out their future while taking their destiny in their own hands.

Kim Il Sung is the peerless patriot who revived the nation and achieved the historic cause of national liberation by founding and leading to victory the KPRA under the uplifted banner of national independence by dint of self-reliance.
