In the early years of his revolutionary activities he keenly realized the need to have true revolutionary armed forces in order to save the destiny of Koreans groaning under the suppression by the Japanese imperialists, and buckled down to fulfilling it.

He clarified the line that one can win a victory when one fights against armed enemy with arms only. He provided the political and military foundations for forming the revolutionary armed ranks through a bloody struggle, thus declaring to the world the foundation of the revolutionary armed forces.

The foundation of the KPRA enabled the Korean people to successfully wage a struggle for the country's independence and the people's emancipation at a new high stage with their true army for the first time in history.

The glorious history of our revolutionary armed forces starts from that time.

The President, who founded the KPRA in his twenties, defeated the Japanese imperialists who styled themselves the "leader of Asia" and liberated the country with his outstanding military idea and commanding art in the worst hardship without any support from state-backing home front or a regular army.

Indeed, he is the peerless patriot who brought up the KPRA to be the true model of the revolutionary army, provided the Korean people with a powerful weapon for independently carving out their destiny and provided a military guarantee for the eternal prosperity of the nation.
