National Technical Innovation Contest Reviewed

Pyongyang, April 28 (KCNA) -- There took place a review of the national technical innovation contest of the April 15 technical innovation shock brigades to celebrate the 110th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. The contest, started in April last year, was aimed to actively promote the fulfillment of the first year's tasks of the five-year plan by putting production processes on a modern basis, realizing the local production of raw and other materials and recycling and steadily improving the technical and economical indices through a brisk mass technological innovation movement. Present there were the April 15 technical innovation shock brigades organized in the fields of metal, chemical, electric power, coal and machine-building industries, agriculture, light industry and local industry. While conducting collective emulation drive, members of the shock brigades across the country carried out a lot of technological innovation goals, thus contributing to revitalization of the production and the readjustment and reinforcement of the production foundation. The meeting for reviewing the contest was held through video-conferencing at the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea on April 27. Attending it were Thae Hyong Chol, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of ministries, national institutions and provincial people's committees, officials concerned and those of excellent units. A report was followed by the announcement of the standings of the contest. 26 units took the first place, 30 units the second place and 35 units the third place. Citations, silk banners, etc. are to be awarded to the excellent units at the review meetings of each province, city and county. |
