The festival on the theme of "Precedence to Science and Technology and Innovation" aims at widely introducing and sharing the sci-tech achievements made by Korean scientists and technicians in their efforts to carry out the decisions of the Eighth Party Congress true to the Party's idea of prioritizing science and technology so as to powerfully propel the comprehensive development of socialist construction.

Officials and working people from more than 100 units including ministries, national institutions, sci-tech and educational sectors are taking part in the festival, divided into 30-odd panels such as metal, chemical, electric power and coal industry, construction, agriculture, light industry, IT, nano-technology and biotechnology.

Presented to it are 1 250 sci-tech achievements conducive to realizing the home-production of raw and other materials and recycling, developing the country's economy and improving the people's living standards.

The festival is held in the form of video-conferencing and virtual exhibition.

It will go on until May 20.
