Successes Achieved by April 15 Technical Innovation Shock Brigades
Pyongyang, May 1 (KCNA) -- A national technical innovation contest of the April 15 technical innovation shock brigades ended in the DPRK.

It was held to mark the 110th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

The contest was attended by the April 15 technical innovation shock brigades organized at 8,000-odd industrial establishments and farms in the fields of metal, chemical, electric power, coal and machine-building industries, agriculture, light industry and local industry.

During the contest, they attained many goals of technical innovations conducive to spurring the grand all-people advance for implementing the decisions made at the 8th Party Congress by dint of science and technology, putting production processes on a modern basis, realizing the home production of raw and other materials and promoting recycling and steadily improving the technical and economical indices.

Shock brigades of industrial establishments in major industrial sector have waged a vigorous struggle for further consolidating the foundations of independent economy.

Those in the coal industry sector introduced new technology for raising the tunneling speed, such as effective blasting method and drilling method, shared and exchanged technical innovation successes and experience, and thus fully met the increasing demand for coal in different fields of national economy.

Shock brigades in the fields of agriculture, light industry and local industry have waged brisk technological innovation movements for boosting grain production per hectare, increasing the proportion of the farm work done by machines and realizing the domestic production of raw and other materials and developing recycling.

Officials and the shock brigade members across the country are making a vigorous struggle for providing firm foundations for carrying out the five-year plan through a mass technological innovation movement.
