University Students' Programming Contests Held in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 1 (KCNA) -- There took place a national programming skill contest and machine designing contest of university students in the DPRK.

The contests, which are held every year, are aimed to constantly increase university students' programming and designing skills and their creativity and thus prepare them to be practical talents possessed of intelligence outpacing the world.

The Education Commission conducted scrupulous organizational and political work to make all contests serve as important occasions for furthering the campaign, in which one overtakes and learns from others and swaps experience with them, among universities and students, and for heightening the students' zeal for study and raising their abilities.

Students from Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and University of Sciences proved successful in the contests by displaying their high abilities.

Hamhung University of Chemical Engineering and Jo Kun Sil Wonsan University of Technology obtained high results in the programming contest.

Students from Hamhung University of Hydraulic Engineering, Chongjin University of Mining and Metallurgy, Phyongsong University of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry and Kim Hyong Jik University of Education were highly appreciated as they showed their high programming skills.

In the machine designing contest Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, Huichon University of Technology and Kusong University of Industrial Technology took the first place.
