Many Labor Heroes Produced in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- The people of the DPRK are fully displaying the heroic stamina in the ongoing historic advance for achieving the overall development of socialist construction under the leadership of the great Party.

According to data available, more than 800 people have been awarded the title of Labor Hero in the new century of Juche.

Among them are officials, servicepersons and workers who contributed to erecting the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and more excellently sprucing up the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun as a sacred temple of Juche. There are also officials and builders who rendered distinguished service in major construction projects.

Many labor heroes were produced in different sectors of the national economy. Among them are Party cell secretaries who contributed to enhancing the working efficiency of the Party, officials and creators who produced revolutionary and militant literature and art pieces of high ideological and artistic value, and scientists who contributed to the national economic development and the improvement of the people's living standard.

Sportspersons, who proved successful in international games to give the national pride and honor and great confidence and courage to the people, joined the ranks of heroes in the recent ten-year history of the country.

Those heroes include women who have distinguished themselves in the work for education of the rising generation, and assisting the army and in the agricultural production.

The title of Labor Hero was also conferred on the women who have brought up many children to be the pillars for the prosperous country.
