Making rounds of a large metallurgical base, a greenhouse farm and others in North Hamgyong Province, the premier inspired officials and workers implementing the decisions of the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK and learnt about the problems to be solved in those units.

At the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex he called for further perfecting the Korean-style iron manufacturing method and pushing ahead with the construction of an energy-efficient oxygen heat blast furnace to provide a firm foundation for production growth and increase production efficiency and thus fulfilling monthly and quarterly plans without fail.

At the Jungphyong Vegetable Greenhouse Farm he stressed the need for its officials and working people to widely introduce high-yielding seeds, steadily put the production onto a high scientific level and thus make the people keenly realize in their real life the love of the mother Party that built the modern large-scale vegetable greenhouse farm.

He called on the officials to push ahead with the construction of the Yombunjin seaside park area in a stepwise and planned way in the spirit of unconditionally implementing the Party's decisions.

He paid attention to the work for updating farming machines supervised by the Orang County Commission of Science and Technology.

At the Tanchon Magnesia Factory and the Tanchon Smeltery he stressed the need to provide the firm material and technical foundations for keeping production going at a high rate, and called on the building units in charge of the construction of the Tanchon Power Station to ensure quality of the structures on a high level and conduct the project as scheduled.

Learning about the prevention of flood damage in the Komdok area, he stressed the need to finish the construction of drain pits, dredging of river-beds, the land-sliding prevention project, etc. by the appointed time on the basis of a scientific calculation of the water flowing and volume in rainy season.

The field consultative meetings took measures after discussing the issue of guiding every work in a scientific way, the issue of scrupulously organizing and commanding the projects and taking measures to supply equipment and materials in time in close cooperation with relevant sectors and units and the issue of putting the management control on a high scientific level.
