Agricultural Technical Measures against Drought Damage Taken in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- Kangso District of Nampho City in the DPRK is pushing ahead with the work to prevent damage from drought.

The district has scrupulously organized the work to channel all manpower and means into the prevention of drought damage while making farms take agricultural technical measures.

Taking note of all wheat, barley and corn fields and rice seedbeds vulnerable to drought damage, Chongsan, Yaksu and Tokhung co-op farms in the district have watered the fields on the scheduled time in a responsible way while introducing reasonable methods including furrow irrigation.

Rural primary officials and farmers have stepped up the farming on schedule and watered fields in a proper way to fulfill their duty as masters who defend the agricultural front.

Officials of national institutions including the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, dispatched to farms in the district, have increased the efficiency of watering by deploying pumping equipment and water delivery means in the fields vulnerable to damage.
