Rice-transplanting Starts in Wonhwa Co-op Farm

Pyongyang, May 11 (KCNA) -- Rice-transplanting started at the Wonhwa Co-op Farm in Phyongwon County, South Phyongan Province on Tuesday. President Kim Il Sung visited Wonhwa-ri on May 10, Juche 41 (1952) when the Fatherland Liberation War was at its height. Working together with peasants, he presented a bright prospect for agricultural cooperativization. After the war he said that he is also a member of the cooperative and gave important instructions arising in developing the cooperative. Chairman Kim Jong Il frequently visited the farm and made sure that it increases grain production and becomes a model of the whole country in socialist rural construction as taught by the President on the spot. The farm has the President and the Chairman as its honorary farmers. With such pride and honor the officials and agricultural workers of the farm redouble their efforts for farming preparations with ardent one mind to glorify this significant year as a year of large-scale farming. The farm started the rice-transplanting in the field where the President sowed seeds with farmers during the Fatherland Liberation War. Ju Chol Gyu, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, An Kum Chol, chief secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the Party and economic organs in the province transplanted rice seedlings with the farmers. |
