DPRK Key Industrial Sectors Accelerate Reinforcement of Productive Foundations
Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers of the key industrial sectors of the DPRK including the metallurgical and chemical ones continue to put spurs to the current production as well as readjusting and reinforcing their own material and technical foundations.

Those of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex strive to enhance the iron production capacities by building energy-efficient oxygen heat blast furnaces.

Those of the Chollima Steel Complex simultaneously push ahead with the framework for establishing a strand-casting machine and the readjustment and reinforcement of overall production line under a scrupulous plan.

The Unryul Mine steps up the development of a branch mine in Sohae-ri in earnest, and a work for expanding the production capacity or readjusting production lines is going on at other mines.

The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex is pushing ahead with the project to remodel a sodium carbonate production line as scheduled.

The February 8 Vinalon Complex carried out the repair of a 75 ton-level boiler before launching the readjustment of current production lines.

The Taean Heavy Machine Complex and the Ranam Coal-mining Machine Complex are accelerating the modernization of processing equipment and various sorts of furnaces.

The power industrial sector pushes ahead with the works for meeting the urgent power demand and increasing the electricity production to the maximum in a planned and far-sighted way.

The coal industrial sector speeds up the development of new promising coal mines in the western and northern areas.
