Officials and working people of Jagang Province planted tens of millions of trees in the area of at least 25, 000 hectares.

Hundreds of thousands of wild fruit trees, oil-bearing trees and herbs were planted in Sijung County. Kanggye City secured good species of saplings like pine-nut tree and Aronia melanocarpa and created over 330 hectares of economic forests and protection forests in surrounding mountains.

Larix lepolepis, walnut tree, Schisandra chinensis and others were planted in mountains in Jonchon and Wiwon counties.

North Hamgyong Province planted wild fruit trees of high economic value in the area of over 1, 100 hectares.

Kyongwon County secured more than 140, 000 wild fruit saplings and Hoeryong City formed over 20 hectares of pine-nut forests, raising the survival rate to the maximum.

Kim Chaek City readjusted over 120 hectares of hillocks and created good conditions for the growth of wild fruit trees by scrupulously conducting the work for digging pits, spreading humus and firming the ground.

Orang, Myonggan and other counties have directed efforts to cultivating already-planted trees and eliminating harmful insects.
