Code of Conduct for Preventing Natural Disaster Issued in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 19 (KCNA) -- The State Emergency Disaster Committee of the DPRK issued a new code of conduct to cope with natural disasters, true to the intention of the Party to establish a state crisis management system in an orderly way.

The committee enacted the code of conduct consisting of three chapters and 11 provisions to minimize the damage from natural disasters and put disaster prevention on a regular and disciplined basis.

The main content of the code is the rules of activity to be obligatorily abided by all institutions, enterprises and organizations within the territory of the DPRK when a disastrous natural phenomenon is forecasted and warned.

The code stipulates nationwide emergency measures to be taken by the state non-permanent measure committee against disaster in case of a crisis created owing to the disastrous natural phenomenon.

It details the contents of the work to be conducted before anything else in preventing disaster, coping with crisis and recovering the damage, the principled matters to be certainly observed and order of conduct according to the types of disaster.
