Sci-Tech Competition for 2022 Opens in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- A ceremony for declaring the sci-tech competition for the year 2022 was hosted by the State Commission of Science and Technology through video-conferencing on Tuesday.

The sci-tech competition aims at contributing to the implementation of the decisions made at the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea by making more sci-tech achievements conducive to promoting the independence of the country's economy and improving the people's living standard.

Attending the ceremony were officials of the State Commission of Science and Technology, ministries, national institutions, scientific research institutes and universities.

Ri Chung Gil, chairman of the State Commission of Science and Technology, announced the outline for the competition.

According to the outline, branch institutes and institutes (over level C) under the State Academy of Sciences, ministries and national institutions, Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and other major universities will participate in the competition.

The form and method, review and appraisal of the competition, including the issue of holding the competition divided into categories of branch institutes, institutes (over level C) and universities and the issue of establishing proper goals and plans of the competition and thoroughly implementing them, are reflected in detail in the outline.

The competition will last from May to December and be reviewed in next January.
